Open Gyms are running Wednesdays 6:30 to 7:45pm at Daniel Boone High School, through November 11. Free, no registration required.
The Blazer Mat Club is the home youth wrestling organization for the Daniel Boone Area School District. We coach athletes in grades K-6 and focus on teaching and developing the fundamentals of wrestling.
Our goal is for every athlete to compete with sportsmanship, enjoy the sport, and build a love for wrestling that carries them past the elementary years.
Two practice groups. Novice is for first and second year wrestlers. Advanced is for third year and beyond.
Preseason starts in October. Open Gym gives new athletes a chance to try wrestling and helps returning athletes ease into the season.
The regular season runs November through February, with practices twice a week.
Friday Night Matches run in January and February against other League teams. There is no additional fee and we expect our athletes to participate.
Tournaments run through the season, with postseason into March. Club registration covers entry fees for two tournaments per wrestler.
Practice days and times are on the Schedule page.
We participate in the Berks County Scholastic Wrestling League in accordance with their bylaws, which are available for review on request.
Club Home Matches are held at the Daniel Boone Middle School.
The club also competes in Berks County and surrounding area tournaments.
The Blazer Mat Club runs on volunteers. Parents coach, run the scoring table, work home matches, and put the Crab Feast together every year.
